When DM emerged in 1980, they were part of the new wave movement in Britain, inspired by punk rock at the time. Other bands from this movement included The Human League, Gary Numan, Soft Cell and Ultravox. While their early recordings had a very industrial feel to them, they have since developed a more organic sound and relied less on synthesizers and more on traditional rock instruments, such as the electric guitar and drums. They even incorporated backing vocalists on Songs Of Faith Devotion, something they have never done before nor since.
Currently, I would classify them under the Alternative genre.
The Best Of - Volume 1 is a singles compilation, which is scheduled for release this November. If you can't wait til then, I suggest The Singles 81>98.

Kind of like a nice dance beats usually. They have sort of a relaxing song. I don't really know which genre of music I would put them in. You should listen to their song "Policy of truth". It's really good. It's got a good beat.

You've got the WORST taste in music and would have the WORST taste in entertainment if you liked talentless reality shows! Listen to good music like ICP!
