Do you need to tell the dvla or will your insurance sort all that?

You have to send the tax disc back to the DVLA ... I think you also need a form from the Post Office but phone the DVLA to ask them

Send the tax disc back to DVLA, and the form you need to fill-in is downloadable from the DVLA website, as are all the forms you may need to use in relation to vehicle registration and taxation.

Get the tax disk, get the form from the post office. Attach the tax disk and sent it to the DVLA. You will get a cheque for the number of whole months left on the disk. Part months don't count.

Go to your local post office and complete and send off a form to the DVLA enclosing your tax disc. They will send you a cheque for the amount due.

just send you tax disc to DVLA tell them car is no longer on the road ask them to refund you
