Yahoo Mail has the ability to provide more detailed information about the sender and routing of an email.

While in Yahoo Mail, select OPTIONS on the right-hand side, then select GENERAL PREFERENCES, and then scrolldown to the MESSAGES section and select "Show all headers on incoming messages" and Save the setting.

From then on, your emails with had full Header details that include the sending and routing information. You should be able to provide that information to the legal authorities as it qualifies as Harassment.

You could get a restraining order from this person. Sometimes it will be hard to track someone down if they are using a computer at a different location. First of all how did he get your email address? You know you can change your email address. Ask the law enforcement agency what is the procedure you have to go to file a restraining order or complaint against someone. If you can get that done, at least if something happens and I pray that it doesn't you at least have something on file. Good luck.

Get a restraining order and an alarm system for your home!!. Unfortunately, the police can't / won't do anything until the person acts on his threats. I had a stalker for 3 months, the police actually arrived while he was sitting across the street from my house, and did nothing until he broke into my home. He was a REGISTERED sex offender who lived 2 blocks from my house!!!

If you find out the IP address they had been sent from then you can sometimes get a gealogical location from that.

Are you sure the police won't help? Did you tell them he/she has a violent past.

Trace his email and get his IP address. Then you can have a better idea where they sent it from by looking up their IP address.

Quit being a little pansy and mark his email as spam and forget about it. If you're really that scared about it, call the FBI
