As a pagan I prefer coming in here to answer questions. I find that the answers we recieve in here are a lot more unbiased and serious compared to the religion section. Also with Paganism, I think this may be a more appropriate spot for most of our questions anyways considering quite a few of our dieties are written off as Myths or Folklore!
As a Wiccan you should be used to this type of instance happening with people not accepting our views and our chosen path. This is not to say we should have to deal with the critisism, but we do in the end.
Religion is a tricky topic for most and when people who are misinformed or lacking knowlege about a certain topic come onto this site, they virtually have free reign over what they say. Do not let it bother you and go about being a believer of what it is you believe in!
You are definately not alone out there Keteni and there are are intelligent people from all religions on this site. Just take into consideration that there is always going to be the people who try to invalidate our beliefs in order to get a rise from us.
Be the better person and ignore those comments and focus on the good that others have given.

A lot of the wiccan religion unfolds and attributes to Myth, Legends, and Lores. We use this site to obtain knowledge in this, heck, we hit all the different site within the "Ask a question". It's our nature to learn about any and all things. This is what sets us apart. Wisdom is attained thru Knowledge, and True knowledge is knowing that we really don't know anything, so this is what drives us. I am a Neo-Pagan-Wiccan, and there are more of us that you think

Relax. They can post where they want to. You're turning a little fundy on us sweetie. Turn the anger down a notch or two. Some post in the Mythology & Folklore because they find it easier and they get less people giving them bogus answers. If you break down the word folklore you get:
Folk which is defined as people or a group of kindred people.
and
Lore which is defined as knowledge gained through study and experience or traditional knowledge or belief.
So...Wiccan/Pagan questions fit here as well.
Hope this answers your question.

As a practicing Pagan who comes from a long line of Witches I find that it is easier to post here than deal with people who are sp Zealotous that they can't accept or at least tolerate others beliefs. To argue with others is harmful to myself and to others and therefore agaisnt the Rule : An it harm NONE, do what thou will. So I come here where like minded individuals tend to be and I can get information from those who seek similar knowledge.

People just don't understand the Religion, so they write it off as a sin (by their Terms). Thus, sometimes it is just easier for Wiccans to get a Real answer in other avenues of escape. It keeps us from being persecuted by the "Holier than Thou" masses of "Christianity". For reasons such as that, Wiccans tend to be more secretive about their Religion.... In a society such as ours, "Freedom of Religion", is a loosely used term for- As long as you are Christian, you can practice any Religion!

i actual discovered Wicca by a chum. In 4th grade, my chum advised me she turned right into a Pagan. And at present I were considering my faith. i began examining Wicca and felt connected to it. The reverence of nature regarded adequate for me. i'm a large nature/animal freak and it changed into stunning. and then the "An it harm none, do what ye will" rule also set me for it. actual, i choose that for the period of my existence. I actual have a twin brother and we've had our share of altercations. Being 14, that's extremely not an excellent difficulty. And before absolutely everyone is going off with the "you're too youthful to make your concepts up. Wait til you're 18" crap... I comprehend that folk imagine youthful human beings 'do not imagine very obviously' and 'make irrational judgements,' yet that doesn't advise all youthful human beings do. i must be mature adequate to make my own judgements and as of now, I actual have. i have wanting to adhere to Wicca, and that i extremely desire to mature and make sparkling issues that changed into once troublesome to comprehend. this can nicely be a thanks to my purpose, who's general with! both way, i'm hunting for it. perhaps it will be quickly. All i recognize is i have self assurance excellent the following and that i do not wanna leave until eventually issues sense incorrect. that's the rationalization I left Christianity, because issues felt incorrect and uncomfortable. yet I actual have discovered convenience in Wicca, and that i have loved it to this point. good success to each and each body on your adventure, anyplace you ought to bypass. Blessed Be

This is a much more peaceful place. I check both categories for questions. Although the ones here usually end up having nicer answers! We all know it is real, silly. What does it matter where people are posting as long as they are getting the answers they need and want?

I post in both sections. I don't care about others ranting and raving about their religion. I chose not to read that crap. I know if I ask a question about wicca, witchcraft.etc... then I will most likely post in religion section. Probably personal preference.

Some of us have gotten nastiness from Christians and atheists posting in R&S; I guess that's a way to shield.
And then there's the fact that we worship the Gods written off as "myths."
