Is Zidane the best? That's like asking if the Pope is Catholic. Of course he's the best.

Hummmmm... if Zidane was "THAT" good, how come Real Madrid wasn't able to win the Liga or the Champions League in the last few years? (oh yeah, French ppl will find always some excuses... like "the other players were not that good" or whatever)
If Zidane was "THAT" good, how come France did not win the World Cup? Have you seen Zidane's performance in the WC?
Zidane... good player (yes) but what a LOSER!
Like you and the very small circle of friends in this forum... L O S E R S ! ! !
btw: Cannavaro ridiculed Zidane in the 2006 Final and in addition, Cannavaro was the ONE to raise up the World Cup, while Zidane (the LOSER) was taking a shower!

We heard you the first time, zizou_rocks.
If Real Madrid depends on Zidane, wouldn't that imply that it was just a few stars minding their own business rather than working as a team? They have had a high reputation, and surely they can be able to play well without Zidane, even if their star has retired. Possibly not as well as before, but they will still make satisfactory progress.

i feel that zidane absence is affecting the performance of real madrid and they r having so many good players and at present they have signed a new player ruud van nistelrooy nad now he is the highest goal scorer of real madrid this season he is misssed by many and some members don't like zidane but they don't know that zidane is great ronaldo can also do well but this season what happened to him heis not doing well may be god helps him?
but its correct that without zidane real madrid is waste and there chances also decreases in winning the la liga because they lost a very great player zidane and he will be misssed by all of football fans and may some r stupid fans that didn't like zidane they r waste?thank u for asking this question

Zidane will be missed by many, he was the best the last 10 years and the best after Maradona retired. he still had his magic this past WC 2006.

Zidane is too great a player to replace easily. But Real is chock full of stars and they have to form a new identity.

zidane is good but football is a team sport so his absence alone could not be affecting the performance of the team.there is something fundamentally wrong with team itself. probably there are too many stars on the team.

zidane was one of my favorite players of the time but this world cup has sort of not re-enforced that but sort of down-scale my liking for him, not only in the last final but also in his performance. and for RM, boo hoo, if one player is all of what a team has then thats too bad for the team, the coach should have been smarter in picking players!!!

Definitely zizou_rocks, you are not the only one who has missed his presence! This will ofcourse affect Rm's performance because there can be no one like zizou.....I do hope though that they try to manage without him....

Zidane is the best,...ignore what the others are saying, they know it and are too ashamed to admit it,..but i don't think his absence is to be blamed on the effort of the team
