you are not suppose to get a dj, but at my daughters christening, we did the same has you, hired a room, food and drink and i felt we needed a dj. it was too quiet even though people are chatting it still felt has though we needed something else, if you want one get one if it makes you feel happy, its upto you not other people, enjoy your daughters christening!

A christening is more like a social gathering after the service no need for a DJ just a little bit of music in the back ground would be nice

I've never heard of a DJ at a Christening - but a short time ago I'd never heard of a 'Baby Namimg' as an alternative to a Christening.

You know your family and friends, you know what they like and you know what you want - if you think a DJ is appropriate for YOUR celebration the you go for it girl - you could start a whole new trend!

Don't get a DJ, That seems a little ridiculous and over the top. I doubt anyone will want to dance at a christening party. Why add an expense when clearly most people you've talked to (that I assume will be there) don't want a DJ.

U will be time enough hiring a DJ when your child gets married!!
I think you should keep it low key-close family and friends only. After all where theres food and drink theres bound to be smokers, not a good combination around babies.
It may be a better idea to cancel the club and have it in your own house, or a relatives house.
Good luck.

No. A DJ is not appropriate to a christening get your guests to sing and save a DVD for the baby to see when she is older

this is a christening not a party.i would make the day as peaceful as possible and i wouldn't hire a dj and wouldn't play party music.maybe some gospel music and christian music to celebrate the surrending of your child to Gods hands. just a thought, if your family has a tradition of celebration than go for it. i just woukd like my christening to reflect the meaning of the day.

I have christened 2 children & have never heard of getting a DJ - - I don't think the baby will be ready to boogie-down as of yet.... mayber for his communion or confirmation! Anyway, it's a holy sacrament & a time for family & friends to gather & welcome your little one into not only their family, but Gods family. Enjoy time together, maybe a little background music on the old sound system would work. Congratulations!

It's a christening, no DJ needed. How much money are they expecting you to spend?

I dont get it ,
a christening is a christian affair so,
why is the reception at a CLUB with DRINKS and a
DJ....unless he is playing christian music ( which I doubt it)....

dude, just have a simple reception at your home or a hall and maybe toasts and thats it.
