Just a guess, but there are elections coming up.....
Actually, that may be true, but I think it also has to do with exhaust emissions. I may not have all my facts straight, but I seem to recall reading something about gasoline having to be refined differently in the summer to reduce emissions. The purpose of this is to reduce air pollution during the hotter summer months, when the air is heavier traps the emissions closer to the ground, thereby reducing air quality. This additional step in the refining process adds cost, which is why gas prices rise in the summer.
I may be completely off base here. Somebody please tell me (nicely) if I am. Science was never my strong suit.

Wow i changed into examining lots of the solutions, and enable me in basic terms say, a number of you human beings ought to take an economics class, in case you try this you wouldnt be so ignorant, as to imagine that the governemnt extremely has administration over the united statesand downs of gasoline prices... Take an econ class, undemanding provide and insist, summer time is the optimum call for for gasoline, subsequently prices bypass up, this summer there changed into different issues to function to that, alongside with some refineries shutting down, truly there is many factors to why gasoline prices bypass up and down, and in charge or provide credit to the gov't is in basic terms stupid.

Well it has been reported that they lowered prices to get us to travel during the holiday weekend. But, for many of us, gas prices has become a major factor in how we spend our money. Do I spend my money on that new tv or do I buy gas. Do I pay that debt/bill or do I buy gas. That's what it has come down to. Our economy is hurting with this issue. Believe it!

I'm in Indianapolis also. I don't have an answer to your question, but I have a link where you can get a list of local prices.
Try www.gasbuddy.com
Enter your zip code and it will list most if not all the local stations and the last reported prices.

The gasoline prices are going down now so that a demand bubble can be created in time to create a shortage of crude for heating fuel in the coming season.

forecasting something is alway maximally 80% correct. regarding economic issues, they are becoming unpredictable due to the fact that there are many variable and changing factor that affect them. so don't put so much belief into forecasts.
