Platoon - Barbers' Adagio for Strings, shows the futility of war.
Gallipoli - J.M. Jarre, Oxygene IV, same reason.

Without a doubt my favorite bit of music from a film is when Born Slippy by Underworld comes on at the end of Trainspotting. A great tune that really fits the film and the era that it was set.

The Last Samurai film, it is just this music when Tom cruise(Ethan Algren) who tries to help the Japanese woman as she comes into house with a bucket, he helps her, she tells him Japanese men don't do this he replies I'm not Japanese, it's at this point the most beautiful heartfelt, soul searching, music that's just the sweetest instrumental music i have heard, it totally blows you away, and stir rs so many emotions within you, all i can say is wow!...i know I've gone on a bit, but that's how it is with the music in this film.

Blind Faith - "Can't find my way home"
At the end of a movie with River Phoenix, in which his parents are in witness protection scheme. Not even a great film, which is why I can't remember what its called! I just love the driving away scene, credits coming up to this, played REALLY LOUD!

The "Maria" theme from Gottfried Huppertz' original score to Fritz Lang's silent masterpiece Metropolis (1927). Every so often a tune comes along that I wish I'd written, and this is one of them.

On the whole, I prefer musical scores to the songs, but now and again a really great "song-based" soundtrack rears it's head. Pulp Fiction springs to mind.

I loved "So In Love" from the movie De Lovely about the life of the great Cole Porter.
That entire scene was a heart breaker and the movie was
ab- fab!
"So taunt me...
and hurt me...
decieve me...
desert me...
I'm yours till I die. So in love with you. my love, am I."
And of course... the entire song list from the movie about Bob Fosse called "All That Jazz."
It was on just last night and it brought back so many great memories...
