I agree with colt the 4ev, ( I think) I question the questioners reason for this. Just another way to divide the masses? So many of the people involved in this question and answer thing are not americans and a lot of them do not have our welfare and safety at heart. As a matter of fact, I believe a bunch of them are terrorists. Notice that a lot of the questions are to cause conflict and hard feelings between races, political beliefs, geographical locations and so on. Let's ALL try to be a little more tolerant and think about underlying reasons why the question was asked and if you read the answers, ask yourself if the answer was to cause hard feelings or an honest answer.

If someone has time and wants to investigate, I recommend looking for other data. Isn't it true that these are the states which are fastest growing economically and demographically? Look at the average age of the population there. Younger people tend to have more problems, such as marriage problems, substance abuse problems, etc. So, faster growing states will have more problems of all sorts.

I note however that the worst state on murders of women was Alaska. Not a southern state. But, it's population may be young.

Florida may be in the south but it doesn't count as "The South," but I do agree with the rest of what you put down. I live in "The South" and I know what these monkeys are capable of. Strange that the ones who believe the least in evolution are the ones that act the most like chimps (only less civilized).

I do understand where you're coming from... Moved down south last year and can't wait to leave... Although some places are better than others so don't generalize too much... Lack of education and crime against women is sick down here! BTW, MI is NOT like the south; I have family there and they hate it here! Also, this is NOT a racial issue; proved by the fact that most rednecks (who have a bit more $ and power here) are white... $ and power mean control so how could it be a black issue... I've actually met more friendly black and Mexican people here than white... With them you have to go to church with them for them to like you... If you don't you're ostracized! Peace!!!

Now you listen here, honey, I'm a sweet, intelligent southern girl. And I gotta tell ya', we got the best food here in the south. The rest of the country just don't know how to eat. We're the friendliest, most fun-lovin' folks around. We bring our kids up to work hard, respect others and to love babies and God. Now, I don't know what the statistics say, but we're the best there is!

I would say the reason for all of those stats of yours are because since the war between the states, Yankees have been moving down to the south because of the warm weather. Yankees are know for their stupidity and now that the south as so many Yankees down here is why that stat shows up that way. Let's send the Yankees back up north and that will change those stats.
