the main thing is, my co-worker is very nasty towards me and i cant do anything about it b/c my boss doesnt want to help me with anything, she has an attitude about everything i try to talk to her about, shes very open about not liking me.

this is how unreasonable my boss is: they added me on the scheduele during the week and i wasnt aware and didnt come in, that was strike one. i got strike two when i got my period and had to go home.

my boss wont help me basically and shes the owner of the place, if i tell her this girls treating me with disrespect, she'll just look at me and ask me whats wrong with the way im being treated.

Since your boss is the owner, you are in a bad fix. There are very few laws that will pertain to mom and pop businesses. You can contact a member of the NAACP. But if you are white, you would be wasting your time. If you are a middle income black, you are in the same catigory as the whites, no help.

I believe that, from the details provided by you, the issue is not racism, sexism or harrassment but it's rather all about a hostile work environment.

Strike 1 you say was when you were rostered to work without you knowing about it. Was this rostering under the usual procedure in the workplace or was this instance a sudden change? If it was an unreasonable rostering, strike 1 should change to ball 1.

Strike 2 you say was when you had a situation that you needed to go home. You should really plan for this event and not use its onset as a reason to go home.

The boss is also the owner who is on the premises so there does not seem to be a personnel department available. The best way to deal with this situation is to ask for a meeting with the boss and discuss the issues openly. Before you have this meeting decide really hard why you NEED to work there and why the company NEEDS you.

Remember, there must be a lot of jobs like yours, and better ones too!

Good luck.

I would go on ahead and start looking for another job. They can't stop you from spreading your wings and flying away from that place. There is life after that place anyway. There also has to be someone that you can report the situation to as well. Try the better business bureau. Get out of that place as soon as you can. First and foremost you should pray for them and yourself and anyone else that can be infected by those kinds of actions. Give God permission to move in your life and watch how things start to change for the better!

you ought to comprehend that employers were/are compelled to employ someone strictly because they were/are black. i'm sensible i do not ought to inform you in basic terms how stressful it ought to must be to employ someone that is general with this and fairly of being honorable and dealing, they fairly opt for now to not realize this....OR....that the guy changed into in no way qualified to do the pastime to start with, and as a outcome knotted up and value the corporation more beneficial themes and funds then they were ever worth. that's amazingly simple to make certain the unhappiness of someone that ought to employ an unmotivated/unqualified worker, and then go in the route of the hassles of having performed so. not each thing in the international has to do with flat-out, ambitious-confronted racism. i'll indicate you to slightly of thoughts that shows how slaves were funneled 'lower back in the day', and how few (truly speaking) were directed to the u . s .. something else were elsewhere. in case you ought to favor to be a actual champion of racism, i ought to signify you examine data, and hit upon the fabric and carry out slightly homework. not each white man or woman is racist, and in no way each 'problem' with a black man or woman is unavoidably unjustified. you may dislike a black man or woman for most different issues as well the very reality they are black. some black human beings in basic terms are not cool human beings. i'll't say it truly is the problem you're speaking about yet I wager i'm close, and that i imagine this must be considered before stones are thrown.

Okay to file a discrimination charge you need to prove that you are not being promoted or there is a hostile work environment because of things that are said. so get proof, get a witness, write down dates of everything that happens, then go to th eeoc, a federal agency you need to find out where it is in your state and go there and tell them you think you are being descriminated against because of your race and because you are a woman. They should listen to you, take your statement and then they will investigate and if they find evidence, they will help you sue your employer! The key is document document, document. seriously. Good luck!

I agree with most of these posts. Document everything. Make sure the documentation is in hard copy, if not on cd or floppy or just tape and then report them, but please leave the ACLU out of it. They are a real pain in the butt. I hate to say that about them, but they just are. They will make such a big thing about it that you will most likely regret even reporting them. So leave them alone.

But confront them first individually and then if nothing is done, then go to their boss. Document all this. ALL of it!

You deserve to work in an environment that you feel safe in and comfortable with.

Last resort, quit and get another job.

Leave this job you love ... before you crack! No job is loved so much as to sacrifice yourself. You might do or say something to someone NOT in the mix! Like your husband/bf, kids, brother, sister, a cop, a nurse, waiter/waitress, the guy who bags at the grocer! What will they think of you then? When you eventually snap it'll be .. oops! Did I just say/do that? I just hope you hear me. I've seen enough to know. Trust me on this!! It really is only a matter of time. After you quit, if you are so inclined, file a grievance with the dept of labor.

There are policies against herassment at the work place. If you have a office that deals with this kind of subject than go there and file a complaint against these two employee's. It is improper what they are doing to you . If your company is a big company your big boss does not want to have this kind of a climate. However, it's called for action here. Good luck. Hope that helps.

Maybe they simply don't like you because of your attitude or personality. Perhaps since they are of a different race than you this was something that you easily selected as the reason. Then again they may be just rude insensitive people regardless of their race. I would speak to both of them separately and attempt to clear the air. Otherwise, you will continue to be miserable and things could get worse.

Cell phones are wonderful devices and can record short messages remember. When she is mouthing at you or even if you decided to go to your boss her nasty sidekick and record the conversation regarding how you have been feeling with the both of them. Watch them stick their foot in their mouth. Nasty people don't have any real intelligence just alot of misery and hate. They always seem to speak first and think later. Catch them, then bust them!!! There are pretty hefty lawyer fees for harassment...
