Brandon Routh was a good Superman?
Who as better? Brandon or Christopher?

This debate will go on forever. Everyone thinks Christopher was the first Superman, but he wasn't. Kirk Alyn was the first on screen Superman in the late 40's. So, we could compare all the actors who have portrayed Superman over the years
I think Routh and Reeve both were great in the role as Superman. (with the exception of SM 3 and 4)
Routh looked alot like a young Reeve and I think he was a good choice to fill the cape for the new generation of movie goers. Dana Reeve even thought Routh was suitable for the role.
LOS ANGELES — Midway through the filming of Superman Returns, star Brandon Routh received an envelope in the mail.
It contained two pendants and a letter. The pendants, each emblazoned with a red S, said simply, "Go Forward."
The note from Dana Reeve, the widow of Superman Christopher Reeve, said much the same thing.
"She said she thought I'd be a good Superman," says Routh, 26, best known for a guest role on Gilmore Girls. "She wished me luck. I can't tell you what that was like to get her blessing. I was nervous, because I had never heard from the family, and it's frightening trying to fill Christopher Reeve's shoes."

Routh made a sexier "Superman" than Reeve's character did but Routh lacked the charm and charisma carried by Reeve. As far as a resemblence between the two actors, I don't see it. I think Routh looks more like a young Chris Noth ("Law and Order", "Sex and the City") than a young Chris Reeve. All in all Routh was ok. I can see him continuing in sequels.

I thinh he made a great superman. He just nee to talk more. surely he's no Christopher Reeves.
