When TTC how often should you have sex? Per week or ovulation week?

Have you heard of keeping your legs and hips elevated after intercourse?

My OB said to have sex every other day from day 10 of my cycle until day 22. I don't ovulate regularly, but my cycles are usually 30 days, so we had a better chance ttc during that time. Elevating your hips just helps sperm from leaking out and letting gravity help out a bit. I always did. I conceived twice (first time I had a miscarriage). We are in our 2nd month ttc our second child. If your husband's sperm count is normal, then you could do it everyday, but sperm can live for up to 5 days, so it's not necessary to do it everyday. Good luck!

I had a miscarriage and couldn't get pregnant for 3 years and I did elevate my hips and legs and it worked!!! ( It could of been a coincidence but after 3 years??) My doctor said that we should try only a few times a week because that way the sperm would have a better chance of making it, we were trying a lot and the doc. said my husbands sperm count would be to low so we had to only try 2-3 times a week and with the leg raising it worked now we have 3 boys.

I tried every day for the 3 days before I ovulated, up until the day afterwards. I never elevated my hips, just went to the bathroom afterwards as usual since my OB said you should always do that afterwards. He told me that once the sperm is up there that most of it will stay there and going to the bathroom wont affect that. He was obviously right. I got pregnant the first time I tried

It took me one try. Here is what I was told and I pass it along to others:

Dont have sex every day. This reduces sperm count with your partner. Have sex the day before you ovulate (this allows time for the sperm to travel). Sperm can live up to 72 hours in your body. When you ovulate the sperm will be there and ready to work on the egg.. so to speak. After sex lay there. Do not get up to go to the bathroom or put on clothes. Lay there for about 45 minutes...(try to fall asleep if possible. I know its gross). I didnt elevate my hips or legs) I just layed on my back and fell asleep.

Hello,

When actively trying to concieve.. it is best to baby dance every second day as to catch the egg. If you are charting your cycles it will help you to pin point ovulation and time the intercourse better.

Sperm is believed to live for up to 5 days prior to ovulation.

I believe the elevation thing is an old wifes tale.. But I still do it :)

that's healthful to not have sex in any respect. sex is fullyyt non-obligatory. it is also healthful to have sex each day. no matter if i imagine a case must be made that 2 or 3 situations an afternoon is probably compulsive. There aren't any 'excuses' for something. there are one of those very actual motives, although. well being issues, resentment, actual means, drugs, ... And getting older, we get calm about such issues. The Itch wanes. We get mutually because that's exciting and we favor to, not because there is a few choose.
