You don't know how much money you took with you to the soccer game.....so that is the unknown in your equation, and we shall note it x

You spend one third of it at the indoor.....that would be x/ 3
So you are left with ..... x - x/ 3 = 2*x/ 3

You spend half of fourth of it on food...... half of fourth is 1/2 * 1/4 = 1/8.....so you spend 1/8 of 2*x/3.........that is......1/8 * 2x/3 = x/12
You are now left with......2x/3 - x/12 = 7x/12

You spend half of what it's left on souvenirs.....that means you are left with half of 7x/12......that is.....1/2 * 7x/12 = 7x/24

But you also know that you are left with $4.50.....so...
7x/24 = 4.5

If you solve this equation....you will find x, which is exactly how much money you took to the soccer game (If you don't believe me, read again the first sentence of my response)

i don't understand what do you mean with "halfone fourth" ???
but, i give you an advice:
take it backwards:
so, you are left with 4,5, so, that is half of what you have before you buy the souvenir.. so before you buy the souvenir, you have 4.5*2 = 9...
then, before buying food, you have... depends on what you meant with "halfone fourth"... if it's half, then you multiply 9*2, if it's a fourth, then you multiply 9*(4/3) (because the change was 3/4 of what you had before)
the money you had is what you get at this step multiplied with 3/2 because you spent a third at admission

It must be $27, but you haven't asked your question clear enough: "Of the money that is left, you spend halfone fourth of it on food" ???

suppose u have 100 dollar
u spend on admisssion-30% =33.33
now you have 100-33.33=66.67
now u spend on food half one fourth=8.33
now u left with 58.34
now u spend half of it 29.16 on souvenir
now u left wid 29.16
now when u are left wid 29.16 ,u have 100$ in beginning
if u leave wid 4.5,you have 15.43 in beginning
u may use round figure
