Toggle the HOLD buton on/off once then hold down the 'Menu' and 'Select' buttons for 10 secs until the Apple appears

Crappy ipod...... just let the battery run out. it's SOOO crappy. Get a Creative Zen player. It's got a little thingy you just push to reset. Normal. Never had to though.

The hammer suggestion might not be too off the mark ;-)

Hold down the "menu" button and press the center button on the iPod for about 10 seconds. That's what works for me and my friends. good luck.

try taking the batteries out, then turn it back on and go from there.... if it doesn't work, take it somewhere to get it fixed.
