my g.f tried this Q last night and no-one seemed to understand...
Family & friends think they can be w**kers all year and then at xmas its forgotten.... people wind you up and then say " ah, come on... its christmas!"........ what the f`..........

I agree with you. It has become so commercialised and peopl ehave lost the true meaning of Christmas.
I dont believe in being nice on one occasion and then totally the opposite the rest of the time.
Valentines Day is the same, why must you tell somebody you love them or show somebody you love them on a particular day. It has become a money making scheme.
You should be able to buy flowers at anytime not because the calendar tells you.
The same is with Christmas, it is a time to love and to come together to appreciate one another. Why on that particular day, we should be spontaneous and be like this regularly.
I know you didnt want any particular religious answers but I dont think Jesus would be happy knowing we treat each other like dirt then use a day dedicated to his birth (although not quite accurate) to be two faced.

Sorry But Christmas is about the religon. I don't konw why people celebrate it by buying gifts for one another and loose the real meaning. My suggestion is to drop all the fakeness about christmas, and keep it real.
If you do not believe in Jesus then you do not have a right to celebrate christmas.
It shouldn't be about being good for just one day of the year it should be about being good all through the year.

Just the way it's been, at Xmas you make amends just for the sake that its associated with a family get together then a couple of days after, you go back to hating each other again.

it's a pagan ritual first of all it has NOTHING to do with Jesus anyway. the only time it has something to do with Jesus is when there's a sale in the store for xmas gifts. it's a commerical scheme more than it has to do with religion. just like easter..that's a pagan holiday as well. ALL full of ****...people need to stop being sheep and following crap that doesn't make any sense and has nothing to do with religion yet they seem to have this miraculous connection..wow! makes you wonder who the real moron is.

Because it is supposed to be a happy time so we try to set aside differences and anything that might spoil the mood and have a good time....
afterwards you can always pick up the same ole grudges or simply let them lie....

i personally don't like it, i only had it last year for my g/f. but people do tend to think let bygones be bygones for one day of the year. my enemies are enemies for life xmas passover ramadan or the 2nd coming of christ wont change that for a second
