This is going to sound really negative, but the best training experience for me was getting fired by a bunch of back stabbing women. I was manager of a group home for mentally challenged adults - but I was too good at my job. I learned that even though you do your best - don't let anyone know it. The knives are out. Didn't used to be that way - you got paid your worth - if you did a great job, you got a raise. Next job - I got a raise every few months, and no one knew where the great ideas came from. I never let on that I was getting raises and kudos, was on good terms with my boss, and had fun at the same time.

My best training experience wasn't about the training but about the fact that we stayed at a 4 star hotel with free food and drinks and transportation for two days. We had a blast.

I tried to learn Spanish with a book from the library, this turned out to be unsuccessful. I then tried night school, also unsuccessful. My last effort was to go to Spain and work in bars and what we used to call disco's that are now called clubs. This turned out to be not only a very successful way of learning the language it also turned out to be the best way to meet my husband of 18 years. (a gorgeous Spaniard I might add)
