OK, i realize that i am not offering advice of any kind but i saw this Q and i had to say something! here it is:

He's probably trying hard to win the affection of these children so he can be accepted. He probably doesn't even realize what he's doing as he's focused on winning with his g/f kids. After awhile this will slow down hopefully before he alienates his own kids. Another thought, my ex didn't see my son very often as that was his way to get back at me for divorcing him. If my son was there, I didn't have time for a social life.

Usually it has a lot to do with the girlfriend not as much as the kids. He's trying to win the girlfriend's affection through the kids.

I have to say from experience, I agree with bgbeldens answer...her kids are a part of HER, the wifes kids, regardless if HE fathered them or not...remind him of HER....It is really just as simple as that. Most fathers are not as close to the kids as the mothers are.....so its easier for them to just sort of walk away.....
Every day he isn't with his kids but is with his girlfriends kids, is another day closer he is to them, and farther away from his own.

Has anyone given thought to there may be an ulterior motive on the part of this person ?
Perhaps he is trying to " groom " these children to gain their trust, to exploit them, in the future. I think I would be very cautious in this situation...

Usually i say its because the new kids belong to the new love in his life.Her kids remind him of his love for her, your kids remind him of you and whatever reason your no longer together
