There are a few steps you can take to remove this virus:
1. Download the latest virus definitions for AVG and do a full system scan of your computer. Remove any virus found.
2. Scan your computer for spyware. Use Lavasoft Ad-Aware in addition to Spybot Search & Destroy and Windows Defender. Both are free. It's OK to have a few spyware scanners installed on your computer (run a search if you want to find these software).

Hope this works!

Try doing a system restore and back it up to a date before you noticed the problem. Start>all programs> accessories>system tools>system restore. Might try doing it in safe mode (F-8) on reboot. Some viruses hide in the start up programs so you need to turn off your computer and restart. As you restart, press the f-8 keys and it will start in safe mode. This turns of all but the minimum programs needed to turn on your computer. Restore to a date before the suspected infection. Good luck!!

If Ad-aware did not find it, try Skybot Seek & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and Microsoft Defender from microsoft.com. Both are free.
