Yahoo answers isn't 'yahooLetsBeSeriousAllTheTime'

so whats the problem if a question may appear to be stupid?

Maybe the one insulting the question isn't on the same wave length and their answer shows they don't understand.

lighten up people.

I think a question can be thought of stupid if the person answering it thinks there's an obvious answer. When the person asking it is just asking advice. But there are some silly questions on here and people take advantage of the system on some questions. Some questions aren't completely understandable due to the way its written or the odd language, thus ending up with silly answers, some people just want 2 points!

Look at my answers, profile,, I ask some stupid questions, some fun questions and some thought provoking questions.
Yahoo. answers are freedom of speech at it's very best. Random people from all over the world connecting in an honest yet free/impersonal forum.

I am having a blast asking and answering,,as far as the points go,, who really gives a rat-crap! It's not a contest, it is not like you will win anything by being a level 7 answer guru.

I agree,,,,, lighten up people

It all depends on how you define 'intelligent question' - if you are lacking in an education and know next to nothing, you have nothing but my praise for efforts to acquire knowledge no matter how simplistic it may be. On the other hand, if you are just being a prat, I have to deal with too many dickheads already and I need an arena free of their influence. Silly for silly's sake is perfectly OK as long as it doesn't overrun this forum. A bit of well intentioned humorous inanity helps keep you going through life's, rather overly serious but idiotic, mores.

You're right ! There is a question in there. And it actually isnt inintelligent.
You can ask as many silly questions as u like, luv. You go ahead. But u must and do know what's coming.....rude/insulting remarks, snide comments and sarcastic answers.

And believe it or not, some of them are from "lightened up" People. LOL

So, fire away, man !

There is a different between dumb and unintelligent so you have to draw a line between the two...as much as we love to react to questions on this site, we would rather spend time doing other things than giving answer to question like "Is a man a male or female"- wise up for once

The difference between asking a question and insulting people is very different, your last question was very rude and disrespected smokers, this questions appears to be letting people know you have a 'chip' on your shoulder, its no good been rude then crying wolf is it, free speech is one thing, insulting people is another, funny questions are great, no need for the insulting ones though..

There isn't any problem with light hearted questions, or even stupid questions as long as you are happy to get stupid answers....

The thing I really object to is the insulting and abusive questions even if they aren't aimed at me!

You are free to ask whatever you want! However you must understand the level of people reading your questions varies greatly and you will receive some questionable answers..
