I can't represent all conservatives (rightists as you call us) but I think I speak for the majority.
-- We don't hate Liberalism, we hate the government forcing Liberalism upon us.
-- We love our country, but we don't believe in tests. We believe you will show your loyalty through your actions (or inaction).
-- The military is essential to keep us safe. There always have been, and always will be threats to our nation.
-- Yes, we extol traditional values (hence the name "conservatism"
-- Yes, we hate cultural decadence.
-- We do not believe the government should help corporations. We believe the government should protect all individuals and businesses equally from criminal harm.
-- We do not think labor unions are subversive. We recognize that unions can be used for good, or for evil. We think being forced to join a union to get a job is wrong.
-- We believe that conservatism is the highest form of intellectualism.
-- We don't have a problem with dissent, but the method of dissent. If you don't like foreign policy, elect different leaders, or run for office yourself. That is dissenting and patriotic. However, telling lies about our commander-in-chielf and military to the global media is traitorous.
Neither the left or the right is Fascist. However, both sides have extremists that could push either party that direction.

You bring up some interesting points.
I will answer as honestly as I can.
-- This philosophy hates Liberalism.
nope. I like everyone, or at least I give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they don't give me a reason to hate them.
-- It loves lavish expressions of patriotism. Also loyalty tests.
Loyalty tests? nope. I do like fireworks and songs about freedom though.
-- It stresses the Military.
values the military, but not above human rights. Regret the need for a military
-- It extols traditional values.
Yes, but again not above human rights. Example, if a young unmarried woman becomes pregnant, I would not say that she should kill the baby just to avoid condoning a non-traditional family.
-- It resents cultural "decadence".
not sure I even understand this, but seems to contradict #2 above
-- It believes goverment should help corporations
To an extent... Gov't shouldn't have to, but when necessary should encourage corporations to keep paying its employees.
-- It thinks labor unions are subversive.
Not when conducted fairly. They can be very helpful as long as they don't take unfair advantage of their power.
-- It scorns Intellectuals.
I consider myself to be intellectual enough to contribute valuable info on 'Yahoo Answers' yet I don't scorn myself.
-- It thinks that dissent from US foreign policy is traitorous.
Dissent is patriotic. How can you fix something without admitting it is broken or can at least be improved. Our country was founded out of dissent from the original (English) government.
Maybe someone can make a similar question comparing 'left-ists' to communists? It would also be interesting, especially to those who are afraid of labels.

Not a rightist, but I have common sense.
I love to express my patriotism. One should take pride in their country.
The military is the only obstacle between you and the hell that is the rest of the world. Without it, you might as well be speaking a language other than english.
Traditional values should be upheld, but change concurrently with the times. Tradition is a part of heratige and heratige should be kept.
cultural decadence is something that will always be around...and there are more than rightists that don't like it.
Governments should NOT help corperations. Buisness is an individual responsibility for the owners, not intermingling with the government. But it is funny how people suddenly cry to the government when corperations decide to make changes that affect their jobs....
Labor unions are corrupt. I will not say all unions, but the vast majority have outlived their usefulness. There are hundreds of companies that are operating fine without unions and the ones with unions are near bankrupt.
You know, the democrats had capitol hill for 50 years or so and what have they done for our education system? Nothing. Our children don't get near the education they use to and because self proclaimed liberals got into the school system and started requiring moronic standards that rolled back the cirriculum and ate into a childs learning time. Bleh...don't get me started on education....the no child left behind act sucks as well...would like to wipe my *** with it.
Who is being called traitor for disagreeing with the current foreign policy? Hell, I disagree with it, not one person has called me a traitor...
You just have too much time on your hands and you should really get a hobby that does not involve politics or debate....

View from a CHRISTian "rightist"
1.Corporations should help themselves.
2.Christ was incredibly intelligent and I don't scorn Him.
3.US foreign policy, when contradictory to Scripture, should be reversed and not submitted to, though our Government leaders, placed in position by God, should always be respected and prayed for.
4. Liberalism should not be hated, however, sin should. If a liberal stance is consistent with the teachings of Christ, then it should be embraced.
5. Decadence: dec·a·dence or dec·a·den·cy n
A.a process of decline or decay in a society, especially in its morals B. the condition of a civilization in decline C. a state of uninhibited self-indulgence; Who wouldn't resent a condition of a civilization IN DECLINE?
6. Labor Unions subversive?
Subversive: sub·ver·sive adj
"intended or likely to undermine or overthrow a government or other institution n somebody involved in activities intended to undermine or overthrow a government or other institution" I think the actions of some labor unions speak for themselves.
And it would be one thing if you were actually posting a question because you truly cared what others thought, but to post a question just so you can climb up on your soapbox and slam people for their views, in spite of the fact that most "LEFTIES" preach the false religion of "Tolerance"... is really quite a shame.

I dis-agree with you, but I'll NUKE anyone to defend your right to state your opinion...
...Hate Liberalism...No, just dis-agree with it. Economic liberalism has historically proven it doesn't work...Social Liberalism?...I keep hoping someday the world will be perfect...So far I have been dis-appointed.
...Lavish expressions of patriotism, etc...Nahhhhh, if one is REALLY a patriot , it will be OBVIOUS....No tests, oaths or 'rites of passage' will be necessary...
...stresses the Military...YEP!! Most definitely...Pacifism CAUSES wars...History has proven this time and time again...We must have a strong, PRACTICED, and well funded military if we expect our way of life to continue...Our adversaries are DETERMINED to end it for us!!
Extols 'traditional values'....Uhhhhh....Tradition changes with time...As do values...Normal in ANY society...However, I am 62!! I long for the good ol' days....hahahahaha...Nothingg FACISTS about that!!
Cultural decadence?...I remember when I felt safe leaving my doors unlocked...With the decay of society into drug addiction I can no longer feel secure doing that...Yep...Decadence is bad...
Gov't should help corporations?..Creating an environment where corporations can prosper is GOOD for everyone...History has proven that...On the other hand ' Theodore Roosevelt' ( A republican BTW ), found it necessary to deal with corporate greed in a VERY heavy handed but NECESSARY fashion...I think we need Teddy right now...
Labor Unions...I have belonged to two in my lifetime...American Federation of Musicians and International Molders and Allied Workers...BOTH took my money and sold me out...
...scorns Intellectuals...NO WAY!!...Society NEEDS intellectuals and RADICALS...Radicalism on both ends of the spectrum DEFINE what the middle ground is...
Dissent...traitorous...Dissent is a God given right...Revealing secrets to our enemies like the NY Times has done, like some screaming libs have done, IS treason...
So I guess I'm a fascist...hahahaha

You're right, we hate liberals who think that killing babies is ok. We hate liberals who think that the government should just hand money out to lazy bastards that don't want to help themselves.
We hate liberals that bash their own country, which provides them more freedom than any other country on the face of the planet. However we do care about the military, we do believe in traditional values, such as the family(a compete family with mommy and daddy). And yes we are loyal to our country and to our beliefs. Is there something wrong with that!?!

Without a military youd be speaking in arabic right now...or dead
Traditional values are what founded this nation as well as family
DO I really need to know what type of sheep a mullahs prayer rug is made from?
Thats why they have the SBA. Its a loan from the gov to start your own business. its called capitalism
labor unions are good for us in that they keep businesses honest. I know oxy moron
Only intellectuals who are pacifists...you just cant keep turning the other cheek. How many times must we get hit?
US foreign policy is terrible becaue we are too damn easy to try to please.

Hmm, let's see, I'm a moderate, but there are some on here who have accused me of being an extreme conservative. So I'll take your test.
-I don't hate anyone, least of all liberals.
-Depends on how lavish, and what you mean by loyalty tests. I'm proud of our country, but I also recognize that there are other countries just as great.
-I support our military. I'm married to a soldier.
-Some traditional values, yes. I think abortion is morally reprehensible, but should stay legal. I think homosexuality is wrong, but I also believe that they should have equal rights. As far as the marriage issue goes, I believe they should have civil unions instead, simply because the alternative would cause a lot of people to become upset. The problem with this is that the government is supposed to serve EVERYONE, and that includes the religious right.
-Define decadence in this context. What is meant by "cultural decadence"? My opinion would depend on HOW decadent, and how it's expressed. Is it in a way that people who are offended by it don't have to see it? Then it's fine.
-Governments should neither help nor harm corporations, though there should be more set-asides for small business.
-I see nothing wrong with most labor unions, though to some extent, they're no longer needed.
-What's wrong with being intellectual? I scorn ignorance.
-Dissent from US foreign policy is ONLY traitorous if it's done in a manner that puts the lives of our public officials or our soldiers in danger. Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with it. We are each entitled to our opinions, as long as we're respectful about it.
So I guess that no, I'm not a fascist. I'm still very much a moderate. I don't think that any conservatives really fit into that label, either.
Supporting the military, or being religious, does not make one a fascist.
Wow, anonymourati has an AWESOME answer. Actually, there are lots of great answers on this one.
