I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of boys and girls names. I will be 14 weeks pregnant on Friday and me and my boyfriend can't agree on any names at all. He likes Casey for a girl, I think its OK but i prefer Ellie, we cant agree on any boys names at all. Help!!!!!

Isn't Casey a boys name? I like Ellie. How about Jenny for a girl and Nathan or Christian for a boy?

Maybe you could make it a Jr. if it's a boy?

I like Casey, but I also think Ellie is nicer. Either way, though, there was a study done some tears back that showed that women with -ie and -y names were less likely to get a job because people perceive them as not serious, so you should give your daughter a formal name and use Casey or Ellie as nicknames. So I'd suggest Cassandra, Eleanor, Elle, oe something like that.

Congratulations and best wishes to you both!

Ahh.... well, get used to it. You guys are going to have to do a lot more negotitaing/decision making from now on, particularly once the baby is born - this will be great practice for you.

Get a baby names book - you should both look through it and figure out each of your top five names for both a boy and a girl. Make sure you look at the meanings of the names - you probably don't want a kid whose name means bulldog or something LOL. Both of you should think about the other's names - try them out, remember to think about how they would sound with the baby's last name, and middle name... And don't worry, you have a long way to go yet!

Don't worry too much about "Well, my aunt's ex is named that" or "I knew an x in school and they were a little twerp". About a week after your baby is born that name will be THEM to you, and it won't remind you of the other person anymore.

Don't fight about it, that's for sure!

Write Ten Boys Names That You Both Like,
And Ten Girls Names You Both Like,
Put Names In A Hat Then Choose Say Six,
Then Go From There.
Or Wait Until Your Little Bumble Bee (Baby) Is Born, See What Name They Suit.

I like Mia or Elizabeth for a girl or Aiden James or Michael Patrick for a boy. That way he can be A.J., Mikey, Patch or whatever variation you like. Elizabeth would be Ellie. You could name the girl Casey Elizabeth and then decide later what to go by. Sometimes when you see the baby then you can see which name fits better. Good luck and congratulations.

Im in this situation now and me and my boyfriend cant decide, having thought about it, im gonna mention to him to write down a list of all the names that he likes, ill write a list of all the names that i like and if we have any that cross over ie he likes the same name that i do for a girl then we have that and the same for a boy. I was going to go with the idea that if its a boy he names it, and if its a girl i name it but what if i dont like the name for a boy that he chooses?

Take the first two alphabets of Casey { CA } & the last tree of Ellie { LIE } & you will get CALLIE - & her name will sound like a Grace Kelly the princes of Monaco !
If appears to be a boy make some simmilar combination with words !
P.S. I wish you a good luck !

hi and congratulations on your first pregnancy.

first, princess pink fairy is right, you have plenty of time before the baby is born to decide on a name, and in my experiance, any name you choose for the baby pre-birth will be blown away the first time you look at your baby, and something new and unexpected will pop into your head, my mother always said that the baby brings thier name with them, and she should know, she had 10 of us! lol

Ian you are wrong, Kieran is Gaelic for dark haired, I know cause it's my favorite boys name and the name of one of my nephews. Kelly is Gaelic for warrior, I also happen to be irish and love the meaning of irish names.

My favorite name for a girl is Rowan, it's simple and pretty and means red haired.

However, i've done some surfing and found some website addresses for you.

http://www.babyzone.com/features/content/default.asp?TopicID=30 not bad, has a few links.

http://www.weddingvendors.com/baby-names/ this one goes by popularity and origen so you can find just about any name in the world.

http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ go by popularity on this one, as the a to z is annoying and includes names you would never consider in a million years

Ellie greek a varient of Eleanor means, Light

Casey Celtic is generally a boys name, Brave

good luck with the search and the future.

I think its a bit soon to think about that part of it. If you cant agree by the sixth month then you both need to write down names and see how they will look together. Casy and Ellie don't work well.

Just don't go the Jr. route it's so tacky, lol. Give the child a name of his own that he will not think you were nuts to pick out.

Go to names on internet. A jillion choices will appear. Just remember--names stay with us for life so don't choose something he/she will regret later. Don't try to be cute like--Sunny Day. Blend first name with last. Names that end in "Y" may be sweet when an infant, but unappropriate for adulthood. Give the child an adult sounding name and use nickname you like. If you're Asking, I personally like Quinn or Connor for either gender. Good luck.
