That's a very broad question. A usual day consists of coming in a making calls to contacts that they've made and trying to find their story for the day. Once they have a few story ideas, they take those pitches to the news manager who decides which story they should pursue. Then they go out and interview people about that story. After that they come back, write the story, get it approved by a manager and then pass it on to be edited.
