Lebanon is still in in rubble from the last time Israel ran through there. This time Hezbollah will be there, funded by Iran, to take charge and rebuild. Pretty soon, Hezbollah, as a puppet regime of Ahmadinejad will be running Lebanon.

Plus they don't have Ray Nagin... thats a huge plus!

I believe Hezbullah will win that race. They have alot more money, much of it from the U.S. in fact, and less legal wrangling to deal with.
Also, their standards for being "rebuilt" will be much more modest than those of the New Orleans victims where there will be many who will not consider themselves completely rebuilt and satisfied until they have at least as much material wealth as they had before, plus law suits, and Plasma TV's.

P.S. I personally do not approve of what Hezbullah does, but some of the other answerers don't seem to realize that they are a 'humanitarian' organization at least by their own description and do in fact help their communities, even if only to win more members or sympathy. Their military abilities and tactics are supposedly just an extension of their desire to help and protect their communities.

HEZBOLLAH!

They have better organized priorities than the US government, which has to fiddle around with Red Cross aid, and charity concerts, and big donation thingies, so they can pay as little out of their funds as possible. Lebanon will take what is needed to rebuild from suppliers in their country for free or next to nothing because the suppliers feel like they are doing a great service for their country. People in Lebanon, or anywhere else for that matter, have much more devoted and active patriotism for thier country and would gladly lose profit to rebuild Beirut and other cities involved in the Hezbollah War.

I think the bigger question is...Why rebuild New Orleans? But since we like to do insane things, then we probably will. You people seem to think all Americans are lazy, well that just is not so. Many Americans actually work, I know, most of those who lived in New Orleans did not, but what do you expect when the government pays for everything. Amerca can rebuild faster and better than anyone except for maybe China. Again, its just a question of why would we want to? Those parts that are still up and working, fine, but here pretty soon, another large storm is going to tear through and probably rip up the rest of it anyway.

The US government has given the locals the money to help them rebuild their infrastructure. I will not be happy to learn the US government has rebuilt any private residence, in fact I would be very angry. That is what home insurance if for. There are also low cost loans for those that did not have insurance. So you can hate the government all you want, but neither a democrat nor republican administration will rebuild New Orleans. Those people that were renting and did not evacuate are lucky to have got out alive and are even luckier they don't have to deal with insurance companies.

Rebuilding Lebanon is simply a matter of constructing buildings, roads and restoring utilities.

Rebuilding New Orleans involves building levees, as well, because New Orleans is below sea level.

My money is on Hezbollah to rebuild the entire nation of Lebanon faster than GWB and his war-profiteering team rebuild New Orleans. After all, what money can Halliburton make in Louisiana?

Hezbollah is a terrorist organisation that cannot even be controled by the Lebanese government. They're not rebuilding anything. Th US and the international community will probably help the Lebanese government to rebuild and help the people.

Rebuilding NO is the responsibility of the local government, that means Nagin, which means that it is never going to be done and if it is ever completed it will be wrong.

The man is an idiot.

When will you get over your irrational hatred of one man and realize that the problems in NO are the result of poor local leadership, or actually, the lack of leadership.
