Why are women so much colder than men?
You see women all over the place all wrapped up and men are walking around with t-shirts on.....why?

This is true. I have no idea of the scientific answer BUT I believe it is because the body protects the brain and maintains blood flow to the important parts of the body.
Thus womens brains, being used so well are perfused and warm and their hands and feet get cold.
Men on the other hand need very little blood to keep their small brains functioning and its more important to keep their genitalia warm and ready to function (it is, after all mostly what their brains are thinking of anyway) This allows enough warm blood to perfuse their hands and feet.

So, why do girls / women wear tee-shirts / tops that don't meet their low-rider jeans (and often with their 'fatty' tummies hanging over the the jeans / skirt waistline - which looks very un-appealing) and walking about in hot weather wearing fur boots?
...and boys earing woolly tea-cosy hats in the summer that all but (some do too) cover their ears?
Women are said to have an extra layer of fatty tissue than do the male of the species. So it's a good question as all my female colleagues used to wear their woollies while I was in a shirt (trousers too)..!!

LOL I agree!!! I don't know why, maybe hormones?
Funny thing is, when I was pregnant with my son, I was hot as heck!!! Now that I'm pregnant with my daughter, I have been flippin' cold for most of this pregnancy!!
Makes ya wonder, don't it?

So true, I want the fire on and my boyfriend wants the window open. He tells me to put a jumper on, but its not the same as a cosy fire!
But I can drink hot drinks before he can, he needs them to be cold. Its very odd! They should make duvets half thick half thin (a male and female half!)

It is because females have an extra layer of subcutaneous fat which insilates the top layer of skin from the underlying and warming blood vessels. Men don't feel draughts as keenly for that reason. ps That's why women look curvier too.

Men are bigger (in a lot of cases) & they have more muscle to keep them warm. I'm not a cold woman. I like my cold air.

Not true with my mother, who is going through "the change."
Instead of hot flashes, she's just hot all the time. As she put it, "If I'm cold, everyone esle must be freezing." Sometimes she's actually right.

I dont know but that is true! my mums always cold and my dad goes round with tshirts on and mum has a jacket on. same with me and my bf! lol. Maybe were just wusses. lol. or could be something about their body makeup and have more insulation! hehe! x

because women have much lkess fat than men and interms of nature white women are colder than us dark skinned women

Men have more muscles than women which generate more heat than normal tissue.
