I deleted AOL from my computer at home and want to get internet access to set up a yahoo email account. The computer is not letting me get onto any ISP, including Netscape which is on the PC's list of internet options. It is an old PC and the other option it has is "CompuServe." How do I get internet access to set up Yahoo on my computer or any service that provides a free email address?

You deleted AOL.. (did you delete or cancel?) You need an internet provider before you can access the internet. Call your phone company and see if they can set you up will DSL or DialUp. There is not free Internet, but only free email.

Good luck!

Can you send e-mail from the computer in question? If so, there is a connection. If not, you need to do some basic things: check the connection from modem to computer, look around in IE settings to make certain they are correct, and re-boot in a sequence that starts with the modem. Good luck.

Why would you delete your ISP files for? I bet you that your internet connections have got scrambled since you probably deleted files associated with establishing a connection to the server. Reconfigure your internet connection so your browser is internet explorer

You have to sign up with an ISP before you can get on the Internet.

well are you really sure that you have an inetrnet connection in your PC??
if you have it then check for all connections, and if nothing helps then you should take your computer to the vendor and get it fixed...
