I work for a major Telephone Company... and while we still print a limited amount of white pages, the culture and technology we live in uses resources found via the World Wide Web. Your also talking about the cost associated behind the material, printing and distribution. Those costs can be passed on to you, the consumer then, which is not a good thing!
I'd recommend using www.whitepages.com.

I work for the largest phone provider and I can say, we still publish the white pages, as well as the yellow pages. We even deliver them to your homes!

because everybody has a cell phone now, or at least 2 or 3 for that point, that book would be 5 volumes thick!!
