I think more details might be helpful...
1) What version of Nero are we talking about here?
2) What operating system, and what version? Mac? Windows? XP or 2000?
3) Are you burning the MP3 files AS MP3, or converting them into a standard audio CD?
4) How much free hard drive space do you have? Is it at least the 700MB or so that Nero will need for it's temporary files? A gigabyte free at least would be safer. Also, defragmenting the drive before a burn might help.
If the answer to 3 is yes, then are you keeping an eye on the size bar at the bottom of the Nero window, to make sure you don't go over the maximum CD size. Remember a typical audio CD can only hold 72 minutes worth of music, and 55 songs aren't going to fit unless they're all REALLY short.

need More Info.
Have Three Things To Offer Yopu Right Now:
- If Your Trying To Do an "MP3 CD" As An Option In Your Burning Program And One Off The Songs Is Corrupted Or Wants To Play As A Different Type Of File Even though It's An Mp3 (OR, It Could MSay Mp3 But Might Be Eg. Atrac 3), Then This Could Make It Stop.
- Your Laser In the Drive Might Be Sticking Or Bottoming Out (It Floats Magnetically)
-The Blank Cd Or All Of Them You Have Might Be Badly Pressed InThe Factory.
(Don't Know How Many Times You've Tried To Do It.)

Make sure that you have shut off any other programs that are running so they don't steal computer power that Nero needs to keep going. Nero also can precheck each song to make sure that it is a valid file (preventing problems with not being able to read the song). If on is invalid take it off the list. Also set Nero to the slowest burn speed. It will take more time but be less likely to fail.
Good luck

Try reinstalling nero and burning as a data cd most readers will read it as mp3 disc that way.

One of your files could be bad and it gets stuck because it cannot move past it.
Maybe the files are too large for the CD. Does he (I always knew Nero was a boy) tell you you have enough space? If so, I'd lean towards one of the files not converting over because it is corrupt.

try accessing each one of the music file individually and playing them, my guess is that one of the files is corroupeted, if so delete the bad files and burn the rest.
Else try using a dirrereent software to burn, eg roxio.
But the frist thing you should do is make sure that the CD is ok, buy buring a notepad file and then reading it back off it - just to check is all is ok with the burner and disc.
Good Luck

the only thing i could think of is to burn another one right after the failed one, usually it works. I had the same problem.
