I'm deciding between a pci or a USB 2.0 wireless G adapter and would like to know what would be faster.

No, a PCI card willl be able to transfer at the full rate (up to 528 MBps) with no latency. The USB 2.0 top speed is 60 MBps.

She's asking about a PCI wireless card, so in reality, there will be no observable difference in speed because the Wireless router will be the limiting variable, and not the connection between the wireless card and the motherboard.

As far as the wireless end is concerned, no difference. The PCI bus is at least 10x faster than USB 2.0 though that doesn't matter in this context.

USB 2.0 has speed of megabits per second so it is definetly much faster and PCI probably has similar speed. With wireless network you wont see much difference between either one of them because houeshould internet is not capable of using their maximum speed anyway. Buy the cheaper one.

ThePCI card with a cat 5 cable will be much faster than a USB wireless. Any wireless G connection will be slower. The protocol demads it. USB is not the limiting factor, the wireless is.
