The way the constitution is written a president can, in theory, serve a total of nearly 10 years. If Bush were to leave office and Cheney took office after 1/20/07, he would be serving less than half of Bush's term. Consequently Cheney could serve two additional full terms on his own. The prospect of Cheney as president for nearly 10 years is enough to give me nighmares.

Bozo the Clown- That was a very astute retort (there is a dictionary on line).
OzobTheMerciless – These have actually been some of the best years of my life, despite George Bush and Dick Cheney.
To all – I wasn’t asking this question in order to suggest it was realistically possible. It’s just a constitutional curiosity. There are other reasons why I don’t think Bush should be impeached. Primarily it is because I don’t want the next congress wasting its time on impeachment especially of the Republicans keep the senate. Even if the house were to pass articles of impeachment the senate would never convict him. There are other more pressing issues that need to be addressed.

He's already said he won't run, and I believe it, because he wouldn't win, and it would be a bad idea to let someone else come in and undo the damage. But maybe actually being President would give him the push he needed to consider running, considering the blind faith some of the conservative voters seem to have in whoever takes office and fails to do anything except rob them blind and start wars. Still, people don't like to vote for the very old these days, nobody wants another William Henry Harrison.
Actually, if they did impeach Bush, it would be natural to press charges against Cheney as well, as a matter of fact you could hardly impeach Bush without impeaching Cheney as an accomplice (or mastermind)

LOL! This must have been a miserable 6 years for you!
I think Cheney would make a great president. Do you have any idea how much money he has donated to charity in the past 6 years? You libs all whine about Halliburton, but virtually every penny Cheney has received from them since he became VP has gone to charity.
How much has Algore or Kerry or either Clinton given to charity in the past 6 years? I bet the total of all four is far less than just Cheney alone.
We could do a LOT worse than to have Cheney as president. You people need to get over it and stop your whining.

specific, it is genuine. Cheney must be impeached or while Bush is impeached, Cheney will rule. a good greater impeachment circulation has been going for an extremely long term attempting to get Congress to take heed to the folk and Impeach Bush. Many petitions have been despatched to Representatives, resolutions are slowly being surpassed in cities and states and letters to Senators and different members. serious with regard to the impeachment of George W. Bush. A smaller volume is on Cheney precise now, yet he ought to circulate first. there's a rustic extensive impeachment circulation happening at present, April twenty 8th.

Cheney has stated numerous times that he serves at the pleasure of the President. Cheney cannot wait to retire and get away from the Morons he has had to deal with. So you can create your own angst if you want to.

That's exactly why I've never supported impeachment. It's like having Darth Vader as president.
