It is possible, if she has not yet had menopause.
However, a woman that old should not be thinking about having babies!

Heart disease is still the number 1 killer in women - and many women are still dying in their 50's & 60's.

Not only that, but she is putting her child at severe risk of having Down Syndrome, or other chromosomal defect. A woman over the age of 45 has a 1:30 chance of having a Downs baby, and a 1:26 chance of having a child with any other chromosomal defect!

Who will take care of that baby when she dies, or is in a nursing home? A home. With the help of modern medicine, these disabled children can live well past their 30s - and some into their 50s. And, it is rare that any other of her friends/family could or would want to take the burden of having a disabled child after she's gone or unable.

So even though it may be possible, it is still unethical.

Yes, but there a lot of health and medical issues to deal with for both the mom and the prospective baby. Go see a dr, have lots of tests done, and maybe you need genetic counselling.

Well, if you are talking about a natural pregnancy, (as opposed to medical intervention) it depends on whether she has gone through menopause or not. Even if she hasn't it may be possible but could be more difficult.

Medical technology has helped even older women have babies, even those that have gone through menopause.

yes, absolutely, as long as she hasn't gone through menopause. even then i think it's still possible. a sixty-something year old woman in england recently gave birth by fertility treatments. you know she had to have already gone through menopause.
