If American woman have self-esteem, why as they get older do they cake their faces with make-up?

The media...We're never good enough, never cute enough, never sexy enough, never thin enough...we have too many wrinkles, big foreheads, droopy eyes, small lips, blah, blah, blah....And who said American women have self-esteem. I think it's pretty equal no matter where you live on this Earth...Japanese women have self-esteem, some don't...Mexican women have self-esteem, some don't. It just depends on the woman and what she has encountered in her life. Better to see women all made up with make-up than seeing them getting plastic surgery procedures done one after the other.

There's a quote which I've put on my mirror. Goes something like "An old woman only looks ugly if she's trying to look young."

It sucks getting old! One day you're a pretty young thing, then you look in the mirror and realize your looks are fading, skin is not as firm as it once was.....there's a period there where you're willing to sell your soul to the devil to make it stop!

Then hopefully you get over it and turn to more important things.
