No, anyone can post anything on the web.

If you're doing research for school or something use a book, not that people can't be wrong in books, but books tend to be written by people who know a lot about their subject and it's been revised/looked through by others.

History has shown that no information should be absolutely trusted, there is always some hidden agenda somewhere and it depends on the point of view of the author. If you are good at filtering internet information it can be a very "accurate" source of information

no depends on the source. In most cases no, but to confirm the accuracy of the article you should check if the person is a professor of a university, encyclopedia (not wikipedia as anyone can change info there), etc. I always check some info with encarta and other professional encyclopedias because using it. Wikipedia is great but it is good to make sure it is accurate.

Absolutely not. There is no certification, moral code, grand reference screening, or anything else to regulate the internet. You have to make your own decisions about what to believe, based on the trustworthiness of the source. There's a lot of material on the internet that is patently incorrect. It doesn't take a lot of brains to publish something on the web.
