it depends what browsewr your using. i use firefox and have a google toolbar near the top that is erased by clicking on the small arrow next to it and finding clear search history. just look in all the options at the top.

if u want to clear up the search history in Internet explorer
do the following:
open Internet explorer > tools > Internet options > content > auto complete > clear forms > clear passwords then click ok then apply ur search history is vanished

You can delete the history of search bar on ur homepage (whatever it is either Yahoo! or Google) by following this path. Tools> internet options> content> auto complete> clear forms. To stop the generation of history uncheck the box of forms.
You can delete the search history on ur yahoo toolbar this way. click the arrow in the search box. Select options, click clear history. Follow this path also. Pencil> toolbar options> uncheck the boxes of enable auto complete and enable history> ok.
To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok.

if you are using internet explorer, go to tools,click on internet options, click on delete cookies, click on delete files, check delete all offline content, click on delete history and click ok. if you are using firefox, go to tools, then click clear private date then check on the boxes.
