quadrilateral:
quad = 4
lateral = sides
so,
quadrilateral = polygon with 4 sides
parallelogram = defined as a quadrilateral with opp. sides parallel.
cyclic quadrilateral = defined as a quadrilateral which can be inscribed in a circle
rhombus = defined as parallelogram with all sides equal
rectangle = defined as parallelogram with all angles equal
square = defined as a parallelogram which is a rhombus and a square
trapezoid = defined as a quadrilateral with 2 sides parallel
trapezium = defined as a quadrilateral with no sides parallel
You see, they are all quadrilaterals, so they have all 4 sides.

4.....quad = 4, and a parallelogram has to have 2 lines side by side(parallel), but usually is 4 sides too.
