From what I've been able to deduce from your question; the easiest way to merge all of you .doc files into one.doc file would be to create another .doc file (ex: merged.doc). Then select and copy one at a time the .doc file you want and paste it into the new (ex: merged.doc). Do this in the order you want it appear in so that the final .Doc (ex: merged.doc) is sequentially correct. I know you said that you can't click drag files together because it make a big poo but instead of dragging I would highlight what I want copied, use ctrl+c to copy it , place cursor in the desired location in the target .doc (ex: merged.doc) then use ctrl+v to paste it. This should cause your merged document to come out exactly as you wish to see it.

I have to agree with Sealife8.
Open a blank document. Select Insert, File and then the file. Leave the cursor at the end of the file and select the next file and so on. It keeps all the formatting and the characteristics of each file.

Dear its very easy. Go to Insert menu> File> and double click/insert the file. Being in the same file insert files one by one, thus u can merg a lot of file in one file only. Try and let me know if you have any problem.

you can't drag word files together and expect them to merge. it doesn't work that way (as you've found out).
what you can do instead of cutting and pasting, is open one document, place your cursor at the end of the file and click:
Insert: file
Locate the next word file you want to add and it will place it in the word file that's already opened where your cursor is.
that's the best i can tell you.
good luck

Can't you print them sequentially and renumber the pages of the trailing documents so you end up with a continuous page count?
