There are certain smells that remind me things and ideas that made me happy in my childhood, but they are too evasive to be able to really be described. I smell them every once in a while and I won't be able to tell where it's coming from or even what it is.
The most explicable answer I have is the feeling of Christmas in the air. I adore Christmas and I start to smell it in the air around July. This would remind me of childhood because every Christmas since then has sucked because I've been alone. I'm now 33 and I try to forget Christmas exists.

Wow awesome question.
The smell of hot laundry, when I was a kid we had a washer and dryer in the house, and the smell of laundry always filled my home it reminds me of my grandma even if she was in a wheelchair she still did laundry, boy she had some great upper body strength!
Water from the hydrant reminds me of hot summer days, when we opened up the hydrant pump and ran through the sprinklers or made signs to do car washes to spend the money on candy and toys!
Now or Laters remind me of when candy was 5 cents and instead of asking our parents for money we roamed the recycle bins and earned money of deposit.
The smell of the hot sun against the black tar of the streets, reminds me of endless summer days with no worries except when the Icecream truck and KingKong truck ride would come down the block!
Thanks for the question!

I love the smell of lilacs. I can remember when I was little and every spring the lilacs from our back yard would fill the house with the wonderful smell. I think that is why today they are my favorite. I also remember my grandmother's bathroom smelling like pine scent. And cloves remind me of kindergarden when we used to make these things for your closet by putting cloves in oranges.

The smell of Honeysuckle. My grandparents had it growing on a trilles by the front door. In the summer time when the door was open and there was a breeze, the smell would fill the house.

Fresh air. I was raised up in the country. Nothing but fresh air for miles. The city has a different smell. Growing up I loved to be outside doing something. So fresh air was always there.

Estee and white rain were the two perfumes my grannie always wore. I caught a wiff of it on another old lady yesterday after work, and had to fight the urge to walk up and sniff her like a flower. LOL I miss my grannie.
