As other posters mentioned, the company was Union Carbide. After the disaster it changed it's name to First Brands which in the late '90s was bought by Clorox Co., who as part of the deal, assumed no liability in the Bhopal disaster.

The gas tragedy happened with M/s Union Carbide in 1984 in which thousands of innnocent people were killed by the leakage of gasUnfortunately, the claims are yet to be settled..
