when i was a kid we went on holiday to Blackpool and on the way to the beach we passed a toyshop.in the window was a big Roland rat teddy-bear which i fell in love with but we were quite poor so i knew not to ask for it.
when we got to the beach me and my brother were playing in the sand with my mum when my dad said he was nipping off for a mo'.
when he came back to the top of the stairs that led down to the beach he was holding Roland rat and i don't think I've ever felt quite so happy since.

Sometimes you don't realize what the happiest days are until they're over. Only later can you put them into the context of other days.
I remember once when I was a child, many years ago, being in the park in the small town where I grew up. I was maybe ten years old. It's a big park for a small town, stretching along a slow river that gradually winds down to the Chesapeake Bay. Tall pines line the river, the kind that rise up a hundred feet with tufts of needles clustered around the top. In some places, the trees grow close together and the branches make a canopy way above the ground, which is covered with a soft carpet of needles.
It was summer and I was there for a picnic, or a birthday party, or some other gathering. I wandered off from whatever group I was with and stretched out on the dappled bed of pine to look up at the dark green vault so high above, blue sky and sunlight filtering down, patterns shifting in the breeze.
I lay there for what seemed like a long time, concentrating on everything, or nothing, taking in the sounds of horseshoes clanking and old men arguing over who had scored the point, watching the birds swoop from tree to tree, almost hearing the wind rush over their wings, smelling the smoke from barbecue grills.
As I look back, everything was perfect that moment. There were no distractions; my senses had expanded to include everything I could see, feel, hear and touch. I was part of that little bit of everything, and it was part of me. But I was insensible of that oneness -- I was just being.
It was magical, and I've never experienced anything like it since.

I have a couple, I guess I am lucky then hey.
1. The day my daughter came home from hospital the first time after her birth, to add, it was Fathers day.
2. The moment my son was born.
3. The moment when violence was over and I felt what democracy felt like.

Well there was two days that were the happiest days of my life. the first was when MB my now Ex and I got married and it pleased her parents very much especially her pop's John, She is so special to everyone she connects with and I was very lucky to have been a part of her life for 18 years. the next was when I was there with her and got to see our son John born. It was great for us both.

When I realized that I loved, truly loved the man I had been dating for a couple of years. Oh, I knew I liked the guy, but that single moment of realization gave me such joy! I couldn't share it with him, though, right then, for I didn't want to scare him...he has such a bad first marriage. Turns out I should have, though, for he proposed to me the next evening....he said he has loved me from the jump....it still brings a smile, even though it was so long ago.

my first date (with my now husband) on Devil's night 2 years ago. It's kind of goofy, but we were recently married, but I think we'll consider that first date more of an anniversary than our wedding day. We fell right into step with each other that night and I felt that I'd found my long lost best friend. It just kept getting better as the months passed, and we got married in June with a nice hippie style outdoor wedding.
Thanks for the smile!

It's funny, most women say it's when they're child was born, but for me it's when I was pregnant with my first child (once the morning sickness was over). I truly did have a glow about me and the anticipation of being a parent made me giddy! It's a feeling I'll never forget.
