They look like the eastern Bengalis, which , a bit resemble the Sikkim & Nepalis. These in turn resemble a bit, Bihar & Orissa.
Now Bihar is a bit somilar to UP & that in turn to Delhi & Haryana, Similarly Orrissa resemble a mixture of Bengal & on one side, Andhra on the other & Chhattisgarh on the IIIrd front.
This is told to just tell u that the people, language, food & liuving, does not change suddenly , but ghradually as said in hindi,
Das kose pe pani badle, kose kose pe panee
So All the Indians are same, even Pak & Bangladesh Were the integral parts of India, lost in the Bad policies of British. Even Nepal was one of the kingdom of Indian Sub/Cont, which declined to allign with India in 1947, else Nepalis are also Indians.
Off Course NE tribal areas wqere A bit isolated due to hilly regions, like Laddakh, SO remained Aloof for a long time & Christian missionaries took the advantage of this & giving them offers of money & food ,etc converted them to Christians. Else all are Hindus & Indians. Manipur is one of the Fav lands of Lord Krishna, Tripura was constituted by three demon brothers' territories made one each of Gold, Silver & Steel, Namely swarnapur, rajatpur & lauhapur, three purs = tripura. Lord Shiva killed thgose demons. & blessd the land with famous incense of Agar Agar (Algae) - which led the name of Agartala - Land of Agar. Arunachal - means land of rising sun - correctly it isthe eastern most place in India, Meghalaya - Store of clouds - most rainfall occurs, Mizoram named after Mizo (Hill people)tribes, Mizoram literally means "Land of the Highlanders.
This way N.E is not diff from India main... As all the names come from Sanskrit only, also Hindi

there is no necessity that an indian should look like the way u think or anybody for that matter.actually speaking no person is similar to the other in any part of the world except twins.its not just northeast indians looking different from people of rest of india, every individual looks different from the other.

The Indian subcontinent has been always open to migrations. majority of the migrations too place from the north western mountain passes, by people of Central Asia. Before that it was the people of mediterranean descent. The people in the north east are of mongolian descent. Due to the geographical isolation till now there was no intermingling with the people of the other parts which is why they have retained their original features, whereas the people in other parts of the country though originally from different tribes and races have mingled and formed what is now the "indian" looks.

I am not an Indian but I think the Northern Indian has Macedonian blood in them.
Alexander the Great invaded Northern India during his conquests and the two races intertwined with cross marriages.
The Southern Indians are darker in complexion, Northerners are lighter skinned and have European features.

They are very much indian. They look different because of the biological conditions of the place. The environment & conditions plays a major role in the looks of the people.

People like you are contributing to problems we have in north east.
People from north east belong to Mongolian stock and that is reason for there different looks.
People from the rest of India are from different stocks.
I will recommend that you should take a crash course in Indian geography

North Indians...ofcourse they are Indians...they are Aryans
Others ..south Indians are called Dravidians..also Indians

north indians & south indians doesnot look similar according to their geographical location the shape of the skull differs that is why they look little different from others.

They are the lost tribe of Israel. They Migrated from the North over land. It took many generations. OOPS! If your talking about the U.S. Indian, if not I don't know. Sorry.
