That all depends on who's Doom we are discussing.

I guess you are asking about the "end of the world".

From a astronomical point of view this could be when the sun is expected to expand and evaporate the earth. (This is expected to be a long way away)

From a philosophical point of view the world as we know can be considered ephemeral and therefore ends constantly.

From a religious point of view the only time line I am aware of that may have a date I think is the Maya Calendar and I'm not even sure if it it significant.

From a tax collection point of view you have only so much time to submit your return....

Any more out there ?

Will there be one as per our classical belief?(as per scriptures)It is difficult accept any thing on face value unless it is proven by scientific evidence. Well it is estimated that Ice Age existed nearly 10000 years ago when most living creatures perished. You want to call this kind of event as a dooms day you could. Scientists calculate probability of an asteroid or a meteor colliding with earth. This could cause life on earth to perish totally as it was believed to have happened 80 million years ago when all dinosaurs perished. You want to call such an event as dooms day you could. However no one has so far accurately predicted the occurrence of even such events.

Nobody know the exact time but in a couple of billion years the sun will expand to engulf the Earth, unless of course during this expansion it's gravity decreases and the Earth moves out of orbit away from the sun.
