I bought a First Response home pregnancy test and it says you can test 5 days sooner. I'm really anxious and I want to test even earlier than that... has anyone gotten a positive result from taking a home pregnancy sooner than 5 days before your period? Thanks for your help!

I waited till three days before my period was due. I was feeling pretty crappy, my stomach was all in knots, and I knew something was wrong, so I figured a test would ease my mind. When I took the test (there were two in the box), it came out unclear. I took the other one and it came out positive. The following Monday, I went to the doctor and got a blood test to confirm -- those are foolproof, so do that if you really want to know as soon as possible.

I used one of those 5-days-early tests when I was 3 days late, and it was negative, then I went to the dr and the blood test was positive. So in my case it didn't work at all!

The home tests basically checks for a certain hormone in your urine. Your body starts creating the hormone as soon as the egg is fertilised, but initially it is in very low quantities. It needs to reach a certain level before the test will pick it up. So if we assume that you have a 28 day cycle, and you ovulate on day 14, testing earlier than 5 days early means you're testing before day 23. I'm not convinced that that will give your body enough time to get the hormone levels high enough that the test wil work!

It is possible that you'll get a positive, but much more likely that it will test negative even if you are already pregnant. So I would think that it would be a waste of the test, because you'll just end up testing again a few days later, and (if you're like me, anyway), again and again!

The soonest way to find out is from a blood test, your doctor could give you. But you can only get OTC tests that let you test up to a week before your cycle should start. I have had suspicions before that I was pregnant, and I have taken the test earlier than a week, but it always came back negative.. only to find out a week later I was pregnant indeed. Good luck!!

Yes, there are tests that can be done right after the day you should had your period. Just look and read the ones that are out there, and yes they do work!

properly all of us's physique is diverse and places out a diverse point of HCG horomone. I took 3 early being pregnant try while i grew to become into 5 weeks pregnant with my twins and it grew to become into detrimental each time. If twins made extra HCG than it would have been constructive because of the fact it grew to become into after i grew to become into through start once I took it. Your toddler might desire to easily be generating plenty extra being pregnant hormone truly early.

Doubtful. I'd wait until period is due or late, that way you're not wasting the money on a test.

You wouldn't be able to rely on the answer if it's negative, you would have to retest within that 5 day window anyways. If it says positive though, that's a reliable answer.

you can take it early but you might get a false positive or false negative, another words, it wont be accurate. take it now if you want to and then take it again few days later. good luck!
