Geez, if all wireless phone companies suck, why bother w/ a wireless phone?

Best mobile phone planes? Any that take off/land at US airports since they allow you to use your phone as long as you're not taking off/landing. Internationally they make you keep your phone off as long as the walkway is not connected to the plane.

But if you're looking for the best mobile phone plan? Depends on whether the carrier you're thinking of has good coverage in the places you plan to use the phone. After that, check your usage minutes, when you plan to use the phone (days, nights, weekends), who you plan to call (local, regional, national, international), and where you plan on using it (in network, roaming).

they ALL have faults so just ask a lot of questions about:
*getting a signal
*roaming fees
*contracts
*fines for leaving them
*free phones
*fees for getting the phone turned on
*if they have free nights and weekends
*ask what time the nights start, 9 is ok, 7 is better
*if they have free in-coming

they all suck in different ways, none are great, and they will all "fee" you to death
