Some people are more intuitive than others, but mothers tend to be more intuitive in general than women who are not mothers, especially towards their own children.
It's really funny, all these people agreeing and talking about "Mother's intuition" and whatnot. Yet on the topics about Elimination Communication where it is mentioned this intuition can be used to help keep a baby from sitting in his own waste, most responses are:
EWWW!
That's (borderline) abusive!
Sounds like someone withh too much time on their hands/too competitive...
It's the SAME thing as using your intuition and connectedness to know when the baby is hungry, gassy, tired, playful...
But because it's unfamiliar of course it must be "bad."
YES! Mothers are very in tune with their children, it helps them be better mothers and form a strong bond with their family.

It would seem so. Mothers protection and survival instincts seem naturally tuned in and acute when the child is very young but then a lot of mothers become increasingly out of touch with everyone; their children, other family members and most other people, as time goes by. A lot of mothers have no idea what their teenagers are even talking about most of the time. They have no understanding of people who think a child's crying, screaming or shouting in public places is disturbing to others. And often develop issues with their husbands. B well.

I always felt like that too. I would be tired when he was and I would wake up before he even started making noise on the monitor at night. Maybe because they grew in us we are still connected.

I think it stems from spending a lot of time with them and caring on that level. I used to know when my dog was ill before symptoms presented themselves, and the same now with my daughter.

The SAME thing happens to me - even though my baby girl is sleeping in her crib in another room! All of a sudden I will jolt awake, then a few minutes later she will start to cry for food...crazy isnt it??
