It is a long known fact that race car drivers are the least fit of any sport including bowlers. Thge only real reason to watch nascar is to watch the pit crews, those guys are awesome...

You stereotype NASCAR so much. NASCAR cars are engineered perfectly. But the driver must set up his own car, everything from the tire pressure to wedge, trackbar, spoiler angle, gear ratios. I bet if you had to do it you wouldn't know where to start. Try driving at 200mph going 3 wide with other cars all while cooking yourself inside a 150 degree cockpit for 200 laps. Being a NASCAR driver takes skill.

Thre is a sense of man vs machine.How well does man handle 3400 pounds at 200 mph ?How does he react to 42 other drivers at 200 mph(or at 85 mph at a short track)? It is not just going in circles because each track has it s own quirks that the driver and crew must fine tune and overcome.I have had the chance to drive a 700 hp car at Talladega and had 5 other people on the track at the same time and to handle the car with in 6 inches of another driver makes the appreciation of what these people do even better.

and by the way you uneducated moron, nextel cup cars are anything but perfectly engineered. as race cars go they are low tech, ill handling cars that the drivers have to fight with on every lap. if you took the time to watch a race you would realize this instead of giving some idiotic opinion on a subject you know nothing about. i'd love to see your sorry *ss out on the track driving 200 MPH bumper to bumper, door to door for 500 miles.

Question for the Asker
Do you like hanging with friends(if you have any), drinking a few beers, barbecuing, attending-watching any sporting event other than NASCAR??? If the answer is yes, than leave us alone and go ask questions about whatever sport you're passionate about. Because I guarantee you'd sh_it your pants if you were ever a passenger in one of those cars, weather it be NASCAR, Formula 1, or even a Sprint Car.
If your not passionate about any sports than go back and join your fellow nuns at the convent and continue with your needle point and game of checkers.

I know that it can be really boring at first--I used to think so, big time. I used to diss NASCAR ALL the time. That is, untill I found someone to root for.
I believe that NASCAR is only really interesting when you have someone to root for. Once you have someone to root for you find that it's so much more interesting-even when your guy isn't racing.
I love rooting for my guy, and I love the intesity.
It's still my guilty pleasure though :-P

You mean other than the bump n run...the drafting...the high emotions and fights on camera after the race? The thrill of watching your driver, who's worked so hard all season to make it in the chase, actually be in the top 10?
Dude.....its not all about the driving.
Nascar is like a soap opera for men. There's so much more that goes on, on camera than just the driving.
