I definitely don't think there's any proven method (other than artificial conception, outside the uterus, where the dr then chooses an embryo to implant). I have heard some pieces of advice that you may try, maybe it'll work:
As you probably know, the sex of the baby is determined by the type of sperm that fertilises the egg. A Y-chromosome sperm will result in a boy, an X-chromosome sperm will result in a girl. The X-chromosome is larger than the Y-chromosome, but sperm carrying X lives longer. Sperm carrying Y swim faster. So the advice is as follows: Have sex as close to ovulation as possible, and abstain for a few days before. If the egg is ready for fertilisation when you have sex, chances are a Y-chromosome sperm will reach it first.
There are some dietary theories, saying that dairy products like cheese will make your chances of having a girl go up, while red meat will give you a better chance of a boy. Hope you're not vegetarian, otherwise this one won't work!
One of the more wacky theories say that sperm don't like heat, but X-chromosome sperm are more hardy so take longer to die. So the advice is to have your husband/partner wear tighter underpants, as this will heat his testicles and kill off the weaker (Y-chromosome) sperm. Wearing loose underwear like boxer shorts will avoid this, so better chance of a boy.
If you have an orgasm during sex, it's believed that your vagina will become more alkaloid, which favours Y-chromosome sex. So if you want a boy, your chances increase if you have an orgasm.
Another wacky one: If a man has coffee before having sex, his Y-sperm are more active and this means the Y-sperm swim even faster, so even better chance of a boy.
Hope this helps a bit! I haven't tried any of these, but hopefully you'll have a boy!

God, there's so much hype going around about that!! I'm just the other way around. I have a boy, and now I want a girl. There's this site www.parenthood.com that offers a sort of thing that you follow to give you the sex of your choice. It was 94% accuracy or whatever you want to call it. I guess it's up to you if you're willing to risk it and also fork out a few bucks. I found it quite interesting. I'm not ready yet to have another kid, but when I am, I'll probably go with them. I don't know anything about the left and right side, and I'm not so sure there's much truth to it, but you never know. Anyway, good luck! Keep smiling!

There is a book out w/ different ways to help. There is no way to be 100% but I know douching w/ baking soda and water helps for a boy. Vinegar and water for a girl. If you catch the egg closer to ovulation you have a better chance to. Go to askjeeves and type in how to make sure I have a boy. It should give you more tips. Good luck and happy baby making!!

There are many old wives tales about conceiving the gender of your choice, several much-discussed at-home methods (such as Shettles), and many entrepeneurs who would like to turn your hopes for a son or a daughter into profit for themselves. None of these are clinically proven. Trust me, if there were an easy and cheap way to choose the sex of your baby, it would be widely known; it would not be a "secret" sold on a hokey web site.
There are only two clinically proven methods for sex selection: MicroSort sperm sorting and PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis). Unfortunately, they are expensive, and require either artificial insemination or IVF -- not an easy process.
You can find an objective guide to the various methods of gender selection, both at-home natural methods and high tech methods, at http://www.in-gender.com.
Best wishes on having a son!

you can't really control it, but you might be able to exercise some say by the frequency of intercourse. basically, sperms with a y-chromosome swim faster than those with an x-chromosome but don't live as long. thus, if you want a boy, it's best to stay at it like rabbits during your fertile days, and if you want a girls it's best to only do it once or twice. no guarantee, but worth a try.

No...your husband's sperm decides the gender of the baby...since males have both the X and Y chromosome, it depends on which sperm fertilized the egg....no one has any control over it....unless you have thousands of dollars to put to it. Good luck!

You could try going online and looking up the "chinese birth chart" - - now remember, this is only hear say - and they will which month you should try conceiving (depending on your age) - if you are trying to conceive a boy.... Some women claim that it has worked for them and others say no, but it is worth a try... good luck...

um, no.
You can increase your chances by having relations during or just after ovulation, if you increase your coffee intake and if you have a specialist sort out the X's from the Y's- then do artificial insemination.
