They can send you email and call you. Your identity is in greater danger of being stolen when you pay for something with a credit card or debit card. Who's to stop "them" from taking your number and using it? There is nowhere to hide from all threats. You could encrypt any files on you pc that contain sensitive data, avoid suspect areas of the Internet, avoid opening file attachments from people you don't know - scan everything and update often.

I wouldnt think so, since stealing someones identity has to do with them having your credit card #'s, social security number, more personal information. If they could with just the things that you mentioned, then we'd all be in trouble wouldnt we?! ;)

Yes. If they want to they can start out with only a face in a crowd. It is not a matter of what they have, it is a matter of who they target.
Once they have an eye on you, you can be totally scanned and known by them in 30 minutes. Brake into your house, make a few phone calls and presto.

You should not have done that and yes you are in danger of identity theft if the site you gave that info to is the kind that does steal identities.

Possibly, but HIGHLY unlikely. If there's one number that could really destroy your identity, it's the SSN. If they have that, you're in for a lot trouble. Protect it like you protect your life.
