I love my job. I work with both normally learning and special educational needs students.
I figure that I have best job in the world, which is just as well as the pay is a joke!
I get to see children who have been refused schooling for the most simplistic of reasons, ( "Other students might laugh because she has a colostomy bag" being my all time bummer) bloom into whole persons with smiles on their faces and laughter in their eyes.
We get to restore self respect, teach others that it doesn't matter that not everyone runs to the same beat of the drum and watch the stars reach down to our students' souls.
It doesn't get any better than that!
And on the bad days when I think I cannot take fighting for them any more, something will always happens that puts a smile on my heart.
So , in truth, I not only love my job I am blessed and it is not often you can say that!

people tend to enjoy jobs when theyre young and full of enthusiassm. 30 years into your working life its all a bit humdrum.
i love my job, i started the day after i left school in 1974, but as ive grown older the job has changed. im no longer graftiing, i make sure others do.. i m no longer 50 feet in the air weldiing girders together, but someone else is, and i have to make sure its accurate etc...
my job is so highly skilled, its scary. but 30 years down the road its just a job, the numbers dont hold any magic, and teh finished item, well its just a job...the next one starts on monday as it were. oh, what do i do? i erect steel framed buildings, like supermarkets and hospitals and schools.
i enjoy the challenges, and i love the work, but its all much of a muchness.. today its a garden shed, tommorow its walmarts headquarters in bolivia... its work. and its 18 years till i retire... and then what shall i do? ive spent 45 years grafting my sphericals off... do the math, that half a million hours... 40x365x40
40hrs a week 365 days a year for 40 years (ok its a dirty sum, but you get the drift)

The way I see it there are essentially 3 types of people:
1. Those that go for the best paid job.
2. Those that go for the most enjoyable job.
3. Those that don't care about any job, as long as at the end of the day they get to go back to the one they love.
I fall into the third category.

Me! Me! :)
I am software quality assurance - besides the fact that I work on many projects, and generally don't have enough time to get bored with one, really, before I move on to the next; I am really fond of finding other people's mistakes, and I am surely glad to be able to use that innate ability in a constructive sort of way. Rather than pissing of my potential friends, socially :))
Finding one's place, a job s/he enjoys, is very iportant to feel satisfied with one's life. Not the only important thing, of course, far from it, but important nonetheless.
