My husband and I started watching Silent Hill but we just couldn't finish it. It didn't make sense. I wanted to finish watching it the next day but he returned it and I don't really care to rent it again. So, we left off at the part where it looked like the wife and husband were in the same spot yet in parallel universes or something when he was looking for her. What happens from there? How does it end? Does it wind up making any sense? THANKS! :)

well, turn out that the mother &daughter had already died in the car crash, they returned home thinking they got out of it alive but they were actually dead.

If you never played the video game Silent Hill the movie would be very hard to follow. I was very disappointed with the game. But the ending basically is they are still in parallel universes. He goes home and is on the couch, she and the daughter come home too. He can sense her presence but can not see or hear her. That is pretty much how it ends. Very disturbing and hoping they are not thinking about a sequel...

The next morning, we see a depressed Chris arriving home, going inside, and closing the door. Meanwhile, we see Rose and an eerily calm and happy Sharon walking out of the church. Dahlia asks Rose why Alissa didn't kill her and Sharon repeats what Christabella told her about a mother's love. Dahlia looks at the two, and Sharon looks at her, and it is strongly implied that Sharon is now Alissa. Rose and her daughter head back to the car, and Sharon calls home. The machine picks up, and Christopher hears only static, but we see Rose saying that they'll be home soon. Rose pulls out and through the fog, passes Cybill's motorcycle. They come to where the chasm was, but it fixes itself and they drive on through the fog. They are still in a fog when they pass Braham's Gas and arrive home, where Christopher is sleeping through the unblocked sunlight. The girls go in, leaving the door open, and Sharon goes to play with something as Rose sits on a chair opposite the empty couch where Chris is still lying, having just woken up. He rises and lingers around the chair where Rose isn't sitting in his world, and then heads for the door. He sees that the door is open and runs forward, hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of Rose and Sharon, but when he looks outside, he sees only his car, parked right where Rose had parked her car.
SO WHAT HAPPENED?
I think that Rose and Sharon are now nothing more than ghosts, kind of like how Jennifer Connely was in Dark Water. As for Silent Hill, the town is alive and decides whether or not to show you it's darker self. If it does, though, you end up forever living in a fog world like Rose and Sharon now do.

Well let me tell you this way...
All the people around there in Silent hill, except the husband (Sean Bean) are actually dead!
In the end Rose & her daughtr find peace & actually rest in peace. As you can see they are coming home, & Silent Hill road
is no longer collapsed, (It means that the suffer & pain have just finshed!) They return home in a fog ( that means they're dead)
But we see that the man's alive but they can FEEL eachother
in the room. In the end, the man feel's Rose's perfume, & starts
looking for her, but he can't find them...
Brilliant.
You know I'm a hardcore fan of Silent Hill games & I think that the
film was amazing too!

what Jeff said they went to the other world [silent hill] and now they returned back to their house apart of them will always remain there >> this is why sean bean's character could sense but not see them both oh and it is a great film too freaky the first time but afterwards just plain funny

Yes, that is pretty much the end of the movie.
I'm a fan of the video game series, and also live in WV, so I was pretty disappointed with the movie. They make it seem like everybody in WV is some religious nutjob, and we aren't. At least I'm not! ;-)

My husband BOUGHT it for me for my birthday and trust me, it makes no sense whatsoever, from start to finish, it's up for sale, CHEAP if anyone wants my copy! (Was bought new and watched only once-Full Screen)
