I've been on both sides. I have 3 kids, was living in a housing development, was receiving food stamps ($400/montly), and child support. My kids looked great, ate great, and they had most of the stuff they wanted. (Just to let you know I wasn't unemployed because I was lazy, it was because after I did the calculations I figured my kids wouldn't eat as well, have nice clothes-I shop at walmart, or even have the bare necessities)
Almost 4 years ago I met this wonderful guy, nearly 3 years ago I moved in with him, and now we are so far in the red we are about to lose everything. He works a $9/hr job and I still receive child support. We are now considered to be financially stable enough to not need food stamps or any real aid. That would be fine if the government wasn't taking 2/3 of his paycheck for taxes ( the normal ones out of the paycheck as well as yearly property, school, county, etc.) So we are now stuck paying a mortgage (if it wasn't a mortgage it would be rent) utilities, w/s/g, misc bills, and for food. To sum this answer up, we are paying about $3000 in bills a month with $2000 where if I was unemployed the state would be helping out a considerable amount more.
F.Y.I. - I was young and naive when I had my first baby, entered into an abusive relationship, woke up and left him, he cleaned us out when he left, and have been up and down ever since. The only assistance I took was housing, food stamps, and medical but refused cash even when I wasn't receiving child support. I have worked but found when I did until I was able to receive help for child care I was already in the red w/the daycare. Not to mention, ironically, the amount of money the taxpayers would foot out for child care for me would have been greater than my income. You got to love irony.

If you struggle and still can't make ends meet, it means you're either not getting paid well enough or you spend too much. Try to level-set your basic needs and the cost of keeping that level of lifestyle. Do away with what you don't need and just focus on things you can live with and what you need. Then re-assess your job. Try to look for a job that you can enjoy and be productive in, move closer to the job if you have to to save on transpo expenses. Be grateful you can still work and that you have the skills to work. A lot of people on welfare are not happy where they are and they've never been given a break. Count your blessings my friend.

I know exactly how you feel. My husband and I both work our butts off and we are hardly mananging to scrape by. And my sister-in-law who is 38 years old doesn't work ALWAYS has money. And I mean a lot of money. She just paid $15,000 CASH for a car a few weeks ago. She is always getting her hair and nails done. She eats out 3 times a day, she is always going shopping and the list goes on and on. And no one can figure out how she does it!! It's really frustrating when we can just afford the basics and shes out living the high life and doesn't have to work one minute to do it.

ha haa nice one. i think of its basically reason once you're taking something out, you provides random skill (you basically randomly unscrew the screws you notice on your eyes or say bang on a chew of glass), yet once you carry mutually or create something, you will possibly desire to remember the right technique of putting all of it back one among the different or provide the ideal temperature and so directly to soften, re-carry mutually the glass, mildew it into the form returned) On a common point once you ruin something skill given is disbursed to interrupt all of the bonds, yet to connect something, you pick specific situations and factors so as that issues can entice one yet another and connect in a particular step smart thank you to style the ideal product! Universe works the comparable way in any respect levels i think :)

Since you don't offer any details about what your job is, what your qualifications are, or what you are doing to get into a higher paying job, it's kinda hard to answer!
