Before you start calling me Hitler or whatever, can I just point out that I'm not saying they put me off MY food. I'm not saying they don't either, I'm just asking a question.

Oh, the hitler thing? I asked a question a while back "Should ugly people be allowed to have children?"

It was meant to be a joke but it pissed off a lot of people and some of them called me Hitler, or said I thought along the same lines as him.

Well, I managed a Tex-Mex restaurant for years, and while I can't say that I've personally dined with someone who put me off my meal, there are some people out there who have no business eating in a public place, and NOT because of whatever inherent physical flaws they might have, but because they're slobs, plain and simple.

One huge woman came in regularly, brought in numerous filthy children covered in muck, wearing a baggy t-shirt, stained with what I can only imagine was her previous meal, and flip-flops on soiled feet.....gigantic mole on her right cheek with a coarse black hair poking out of it (seriously, like something out of Austin Powers)....loud, obnoxious, mean-spirited, impatient, and incessantly rude. And given that she drove a nice new SUV, I don't think her appearance or attitude were a result of any sort of financial hardships.

The point is, many customers WERE put off their food by her, either leaving immediately after she sat at an adjoining table, or in some instances, we had customers walk in the front door and then LEAVE when they saw her there. I had a table in her vicinity ask for to-go boxes the minute she sat down, claiming they just no longer had an appetite.

So, I've seen it happen. And trust me, those of you who might respond to this question in a shocked or offended manner....you wouldn't in this instance.

As Billy Connolly once said, "Beauty is only skin-deep, but ugly goes to the *&@#! bone."

What? What's the relation to Hitler? I'm not sure I understand your question. Is that some sort of new Diet?

Nope.

Shallow "beautiful" people yammering on their cellphones whilst their children are running around unsupervised generally do a much more effective job.

I don't tend to look at other people while I am eating, but if they are really messy eaters or make horrible noises then yes that puts me off.

No, but people who are voraciously overeating or messy eaters can. I sit and worry about them while they're doing that and it causes me to lose my appetite. Very few other things do though.
